Jacques Tremblay
College Council approved the appointment to Council of Jacques Tremblay,
representing members from the French-language public boards - elementary
and secondary. Tremblay, who teaches French, computer science and technology
with the Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario, responded
to the Nomination Committee's call for expressions of interest to replace
Bernard Adam. Adam had been acclaimed in the last Council election and
resigned from Council after retiring from teaching last June.
In addition to a 13-year teaching career - 11 years in Ontario - Tremblay
spent 16 years in business and management, including owning a health
services firm. In recent years he has been heavily involved in course
writing, curriculum implementation and leadership training. He has an
MA in French studies from Queen's University and a BEd in French studies
from Université du Québec.
