Leadership roles change hands
The winds of change have blown through the College's Membership Services Department with three of four senior positions changing hands.
Co-ordinator
Effective in October, Michael Salvatori moved up to become the College's new Co-ordinator of Membership Services, replacing Lynda Palazzi, who retired in September. Robert Lachance joined the College as its new Client Services Manager, a role previously held by Salvatori. As well, Iona Mitchell joined the College as Manager of Membership Records.
With over 15 years' experience in education, Salvatori is currently pursuing a PhD in Curriculum Teaching and Learning: Second Language Education at OISE/UT. He is a former elementary principal and curriculum co-ordinator of modern languages and the arts with the London District Catholic School Board and has served as the College's Client Services Manager since 2003, having come on staff as a program officer in the Accreditation Unit in 2001. Salvatori holds a Masters degree in Policy Studies, a BEd from the University of Western Ontario, a BA in French and German from the University of Toronto and qualifications as a supervisory officer.
In addition, the new Membership Services Co-ordinator has international experience teaching in Italy and France and has authored French as a Second Language textbooks with one of Ontario's major education publishers.
Client Services
Robert Lachance joins the College from Foresters, a financial services
organization in which he served as director of the firm's service-centre
operations, overseeing its call-centre activities and customer service
standards.
In more than 16 years of bilingual call-centre leadership, Lachance has had responsibility for startup and ongoing operations in several industries, including CIBC Finance Canadian student loans. He studied at the University of Windsor.
Membership Records
Iona Mitchell assumes responsibility for Membership Records in place of Laura Elliott, who has been seconded by the Ministry of Education to work for the government's initiative, Student Success/Learning to 18.
Since 2000, Mitchell served as Examinations Manager with the College of Family Physicians of Canada, responsible for the examination to certify family physicians and the examination of special competence in emergency medicine. She served as Registrar of the Toronto School of Theology between 1996 and 2000 and before that was Registrar of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has a BA from McGill University and is fluent in English and French. |
